Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Speedboat Captain to join our Transport team. The main duties and responsibilities of this
role indlude:

 

  • Operate speedboat as per the schedule transfer allocations and be flexible to any changes as per operational requirements.
  • Ensures that speedboat is operated in accordance with Maritime regulations of Maldives and standards set by Jumeirah Maldives, Olhahali Island.
  • Assist and supervises Crew members in embarking and disembarking of guests, storage of belongings with safety precautions.
  • Ensures safety of guests on board during speedboat transfers and directs any emergencies to Supervisor or Manager.
  • Supervises refueling of speedboat and maintains accurate records of engine, generator running hours and performs any required servicing as instructed by Marine Mechanic.
  • Ensures all mechanical, electrical, safety and navigational equipment on-board are in perfect condition and the speedboat is well-maintained and cleaned on daily basis with assistance of crew members.
  • Holds high level of integrity in performing additional tasks allocated and reports of any mechanical or technical malfunctions on speedboats in a timely manner.

 

About you

The ideal candidate for this position should have the following experience and qualifications

 

  • Minimum High School education with any additional education certification as an advantage.
  • Should possess Maldivian boat operating license for Category A, B, C, D and minimum Coastal Navigation Level 2 certification or above, with Marine Mechanic certification as an advantage.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Speedboat Captain within a five-star luxury resort operating semi-luxury or luxury vessels.
  • Excellent attention to detail, precision, and prior knowledge of Customer Service and LQA standards in guest transportation will be an advantage.
  • Should be in excellent health and have ability to work under pressure during long and odd hours.
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English.
  • Be willing to adapt to specific brand requirements of the resort and company.
  • A positive attitude and excellent supervisory skills in leading a team with flexibility to various job functions.
