FITNESS TRAINING INSTRUCTOR

Remuneration: MVR 20,000/month (Food Allowance of MVR 200 per day and accommodation at Addu City will be provided for those living outside Addu City)

1. Organizational Background 

 Transparency Maldives is a non-political organization that endeavours to be a constructive force in society by promoting collaboration and discussion on corruption, transparency and accountability. Our organization seeks to engage with stakeholders from all sectors (government, business, politics and civil society, among others) to raise awareness of corruption’s detrimental effects on development and society, improve transparency and accountability in governance, and eliminate corruption from the daily lives of people. Transparency Maldives received formal government registration in 2007 and is the National Chapter of Transparency International (TI) in the Maldives. 

2. Course Objectives & Summary 
 
Transparency Maldives aims to conduct a Certificate level 3 in Fitness Instruction Course in Addu City in partnership with Maldives National Institute of Sports (MNIS). The objective of this course is to empower young people, especially socially and economically vulnerable and marginalized youth to support them to positively engage in the community and to access alternative employment opportunities that can be used to improve their socio-economic situations and become independent empowered youth. 

 
Course Name: National Certificate 3 in Fitness Instructor Course 

Institute: Maldives National Institute of Sports (MNIS) 

Course Duration: 3 months 

Contact hours: 180 hrs (Theory 90 hrs, Practical 90 hrs) 

Course Modality: Full-time, In-person

3. Key Roles & Responsibilities 

•  The Fitness Training Instructor should be able to deliver the Course Curriculum in the link above.  
• Upon hiring, the Instructor shall work with MNIS and TM to identify the training equipment that needs to be procured. 
• The Instructor shall assist MNIS and TM in spot-check visits to support identifying Course progress and reporting.  
• The Instructor shall ideally provide additional support in terms of mentoring and coaching to retain the students in the Course.  
• The Instructor will be the main point of contact for MNIS and TM for the duration of the course. 

 
Key Attributes 

•  Attainment of a Maldives National Qualifications Framework (MNQF) Level 4 qualification or a similar qualification deemed equivalent by the Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA) in Fitness Instructor. 
• Attainment of 3.5 years of experience as a Fitness Instructor. 
• Ideally, be a practicing Instructor or a Lecturer in this field. 
• Must be able to relocate to Addu City for the duration of the course.
