STAFF VACANCY: FINANCIAL CONTROLLER
Responsible for the efforts and results of the financial department. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer in regards to all financial and accounting activities. Overseeing financial department staff in day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the accounting and finance departments
- Managing the daily/weekly and monthly financial Reports to Management Committees and Board reporting
- Preparation of timely and accurate financial statements and annual reports and Financial forecasts
- Create weekly/monthly reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
- Measuring company performance against external and internal benchmarks
- Managing annual budgets and forecasts
- Ensuring compliance to legal regulations, finance, and tax regulations
- Overseeing Treasury and Taxation functions
- Managing external banking/ stakeholder relationships
- Maintenance and documentation of accounting procedures & policies
- Manage the budgeting and forecasting process
- Solving technical accounting issues
- Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations
- Maintaining relationships with external auditors and banks
- Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
- Oversee Financial Systems and external providers of systems management and system upgrades
- Identifying areas to improve business efficiencies and reduce costs
- Team Management including mentoring and staff development
- Working closely with Executive Leadership team to deliver reports, analysis findings, potential risk areas and forecast opportunities
- Handle ALCO functions
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors or Masters qualifications in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or Business Law
- Professional accounting qualification such as CA or CPA
- Minimum 10 years accounting experience
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with creating financial statements
