Core Responsibilities
1. Assists in the development of a compelling and inclusive vision for research and development
- To provide academic support and execute the strategic plan and action plan of the faculty.
2. Manage faculty recruitment, development, workload, annual performance, appraisal, promotion, and retention to ensure that the faculty is supported by a high quality qualified and strong workforce.
- Plan, develop and oversee the implementation of the offered courses and facilitate to implementation of annual work plan in collaboration with FHS staff.
- Conduct performance appraisal and setting appraisal and setting and transparency among the staff.
3. To enhance and grow a portfolio of innovative programs that respond to the needs of the 21st century in alignment with college and country strategic directions.
- Seek and maintain local and international recognition and accreditation for all programs offering at FHS.
- To develop new courses stipulated in the plan.
- Increase no. of undergraduate and postgraduate students per Trimester.
4. To engage in executing graduate and undergraduate teaching
- To engage in teaching for graduate and undergraduate teaching with face-to-face delivery of lectures, tutorials and seminars (both through regular, online and block mode).
- Develop assignment guidelines, submission dates and marking rubrics and distribute to students on the first session.
- To engage in communication with the partner Universities in maintaining the necessary quality of the course being taught.
- To supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students’ research projects/thesis as appropriate
5. To engage in course coordination
- Carrying out administrative tasks related to the school and program, such as student admissions, providing academic guidance, induction programme and involvement in committees and boards and also in the marketing of the programs
- To direct staff with administrative work such as preparing for the student;
- Orientation
- Staff induction
- Involve in marketing activities
- Attending to a different committee and board meetings as appropriate
6. Foster a culture of research and environment within the school that encourage scholarly research activities and application for research grants among both school and students in coordination with IRI
- To undertake a research project and actively contributing to Villa College's research profile and writing up research and preparing it for publication.
- Supervising students' research activities assigned by the school and college.

- Participating in seminars and conferences locally and internationally
- Organizing VC conferences and workshops annually
7. To provide community support through participation with relevant stakeholders and partners.
- Contributing to the quality assurance processes undertaken by and through Institute for Academic Development and Registration Department.
- Fostering and facilitating partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders and communities locally and internationally
- To take part in marketing activities organized by VC and atoll campuses to get new students each semester
8. Work towards University ranking- acquiring Good health and wellbeing SDG3 targets
- Identify and conduct the possible research areas to achieve the target to apply for University Rankings 2020 (SGD3)
- Develop wellness center and provide direct services stipulated in University Rankings 2020 (SGD3).
9. Strengthen the financial and competitive position by increasing product portfolio in existing and new disciplines and entering new markets
- To develop and execute at least one new VC own programme to increase revenue
- To extend BSc Nursing to BIBM
