TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR HIRING OF A COMMUNICATIONS CONSULTANT
Society for Health Education (SHE) is an organization that is proactive in identifying and addressing the crucial health and social concerns of the Maldives. Its mission is to enhance the quality of life of Maldivian families. The society embraces the following mandate:
● Strive to improve the quality of life of the Maldivian people.
● Harness the expertise of national professionals on a voluntary basis for development programmes.
● Endeavor to raise awareness on health and social issues.
This consultancy is for the project “Responding with Essential SRHR Provision and New Delivery Mechanisms (RESPOND)”, an Australian Aid initiative implemented by the Society for Health Education (SHE) with technical support from the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). The project aims to provide high-quality and equitable SRH services through established service delivery channels, and for women, men, and young people, including migrants to have access to digital health services, and alternative service delivery models. The main goal of the project is to achieve improved utilization of SRHR information and services by the most vulnerable, with a focus on innovative approaches and restoring services that have been impacted by COVID-19.
Under this project, our organization is seeking to engage the services of an experienced Communications Consultant who can manage our communication activities and shape our public image. The potential individual will be responsible for growing, shaping and maintaining SHE's reputation and brand image through the creative brand marketing strategies, developing a branding kit, maintaining good media relations and promoting positive public awareness of SHE through external communications. The individual will develop communication materials, and promote multiple activities conducted under the project.
General Scope and Deliverables
Society for Health Education (SHE) is looking for a full time Communications Consultant. The Individual will be responsible for providing high quality, well-executed, clear and engaging written materials to meet SHE's written communication needs. Additionally, the individual will be liable to identify media opportunities, maintain existing media relations, and promote positive public awareness of SHE through external communications and marketing.
Responsibilities and Tasks
The individual is expected to undertake the following tasks:
● Produce written content for internal and external business purposes
● Develop and implement strategies for brand marketing
● Develop a brand marketing kit

● Manage day to day social media accounts and other online platforms
● Develop promotional strategies
● Build relationships with new media contacts and maintain relationships with existing contacts
● Manage media requests in a timely and professional manner
● Ensure all communication aligns with the brand image
● Track and analyze media coverage to inform future campaigns
● Organize, schedule, and prepare staff for press interviews
● Develop and deliver quality communication materials related to the project
● Establish positioning, identify target audiences, and develop marketing plans for all marketable services of the SHE with specific objectives across different channels and segments.

● Lead the execution of marketing and fundraising programs from start to finish, leveraging internal support and driving collaboration
● Present ideas and final deliverables to internal and external teams, and communicate with senior leaders about marketing programs, strategies, and budgets.
Payment Schedule
A monthly payment of 12,000.00 MVR will be made to the consultant.
Duration and Working Schedule
● The potential individual will be offered a TWO YEAR contract from the date of signing.
● The individual will be reporting to work fulltime at Society for Health Education (SHE) from 08:00 to 14:30.
Qualifications and Experience required
● Bachelor’s Degree or above in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or any relevant field
● Minimum two years experience in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or any relevant field.
● A proactive approach to delivering tasks
● Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and ethics
● Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
